John Appleton Handyman – Terms and Conditions

By requesting services from John Appleton Handyman (“we”, “our”, “us”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. These govern all work undertaken at residential properties in Faringdon and South Oxfordshire.
1. Services
We provide general handyman services, including repairs, maintenance, and home improvement tasks, carried out in private homes.
2. Quotes & Pricing
We provide free, no-obligation quotes before beginning work.
Pricing may be hourly or fixed per project, depending on the nature of the work.
Where a quote is provided, it is valid for 30 days.
3. Deposits & Payments
A deposit may be required for larger jobs. This will be agreed in advance.
For larger projects, part-payment may be requested halfway through the work.
Final payment is due within 7 days of job completion.
We accept cash or bank transfer (preferred).
4. Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations made at least 7 days in advance incur no further charges.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled work may incur a charge of 20% of the quoted job price, or the equivalent of the first hour of work for hourly jobs.
5. Guarantees
We do not offer formal guarantees on our work, but we aim to provide services to a high standard. Please contact us promptly if you are unsatisfied with any aspect of the work.
6. Insurance
We hold valid public liability insurance. Proof of cover can be provided on request.
7. Access and Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing safe access to the property and the area where work will be carried out.
Please ensure pets and children are kept safely away from working areas.
8. Website Use
Our website allows users to request quotes via a contact form. Submitting a request does not form a contract for services. We reserve the right to decline work at our discretion.
